Police Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Waratah 4 March

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the state's north.

Marak Pyrda, aged 46, was last seen at a medical facility in Platt Street, Waratah, about 10:30am yesterday, (Tuesday 3 March 2026).

When he was unable to be located, officers attached to Newcastle City Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

There are concerns for Marak's welfare as he lives with a medical condition and requires medication.

Marak is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 190cm tall, of solid build and with a shaved head.

He was last seen wearing a black coloured short-sleeved t-shirt with white coloured 'Under Armour' logo on the front, blue coloured shorts, white ankle length socks and black shoes. He is also carrying a backpack.

Anyone who sees Marak is urged not to approach him but to contact Newcastle City Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
