Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.
Ernest Smith, aged 79, was last seen on Coogee Bay Road, Coogee, about midday today (Saturday 16 August 2025).
When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.
Police and family hold concerns for Ernest's welfare as he lives with a number of medical conditions that require medication, including dementia which may make him confused or disoriented.
Ernest is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall with an average build, and receding short grey/white hair.
He was last seen wearing a white jumper with a black puffer jacket over the top, beige pants and black shoes.
Ernest is known to frequent the Coogee and Randwick area.
