Police Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Waitara

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's North Shore.

Hai Liu, aged 75, was last seen on Leonard Street, Waitara, about 3.35am today (Friday 26 September 2025).

When he was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to Kuring-Gai Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family have concerns for Hai's welfare as he lives with a health condition and is non-English speaking.

Hai is described as being of Asian appearance, about 176cm tall, slim build and bald.

He was last seen wearing a purple long sleeve shirt, dark pants, socks and black sandals.

Hai does not know the area well and has only been in Australia since Thursday 25 September 2025.
