Police appeal to locate man missing near Kempsey

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from Kempsey, on the Mid North Coast.

Michael Sobozinski, aged 48, was last seen leaving a property on Taylors Road, Kundabung, south of Kempsey, about 9.30pm last night (Sunday 10 December 2023).

When he was unable to be located or contacted, officers from Mid North Cost Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

With the assistance of PolAir a search was conducted of bushland on the property today (Monday 11 December 2023); however, the man has not been located.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare and are appealing for public assistance.

Michael is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm to 170cm tall, of thin build, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing camouflage clothing and carrying a backpack and torch.

Michael previously resided in Canberra but is otherwise transient and has been in the Kempsey area for two weeks, visiting family.
