Police Appeal To Locate Missing Man At Lake Illawarra 31 August

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the states Illawarra region.

Asher Stanford, aged 34, was last in contact with family members via SMS about 8am last Thursday (28 August 2025).

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Asher's welfare.

Asher is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, medium, build and blonde hair.

It is not known what he maybe wearing.

Inquiries have established that he may have been in the Wollongong CBD about 9.50am today (Sunday 31 August 2025) and that he maybe sleeping rough.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Oak Flats Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
