Police appeal to locate missing woman in Merrylands

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a woman missing in Sydney’s west, NSW Police say.

Xingxian Shao, aged 72, was last seen about 10am today, when she left a relative’s home on Newman Street, Merrylands.

When she didn’t return, officers from Holroyd Local Area Command were notified about 8pm.

Police commenced a search, but the woman has not been located.

Concerns are held for her welfare as she does not speak any English, and had little or no money with her.

She is known to walk from Merrylands to Parramatta.

Ms Shao is described as being of Asian appearance, about 155cm tall, of slim build, with short black hair.

She was last seen wearing black pants and a grey cardigan.
