Police appeal to locate teenager missing from Newington

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from Sydney's west.

Summer Thompson, aged 14, was last seen on Blue Gum Place, Newington, just after 11am on Thursday (11 January 2024).

When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for her welfare due to her age.

Summer is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall with thin build, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black ACDC t-shirt, denim shorts, white Adidas shoes, a gold necklace, a blue MARCS side bag and a Nike backpack.

She is known to frequent the Burwood, Newington, Sydney Olympic Park, and Wentworth Point areas.

Anyone who sights Summer or has information into her whereabouts is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
