Police are responding to fatal crash - Adamstown

Police are at the scene of a fatal crash in Adamstown this afternoon.

Shortly before 3.30pm, emergency services were called to the intersection of Brunker and Mandalong Roads, Adamstown, after reports a pedestrian was hit by a bus, with several other cars also involved in the multi-vehicle crash.

Paramedics treated a female – believed to be aged in her 30s – at the scene, however she died a short time later.

There are no other reports of injuries.

The male bus driver has been taken to John Hunter Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established.

Local diversions are currently in place, with Brunker Road closed in both directions between Olney Road and Bala Road.

Police are urging the public to avoid the area, as the road will be closed for some time.
