Police are responding to fatal crash at Strathalbyn, South Australia

A man has died following a crash at Strathalbyn.

Just after 6am today (Thursday 17 June), police and emergency services were called to the intersection of High Street and South Terrace after reports that a Toyota four-wheel-drive had left the road and crashed into a tree.

The passenger, a 64-year-old Mitcham man was seriously injured, and was taken to the Mount Barker Hospital where he sadly died.

The driver, a 69-year-old Mitcham woman was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment, where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

The man's death is the 52nd life lost on South Australian roads this year, compared to 45 at this time in 2020.
