Police are responding to fatal crash at Rockhampton

Police are investigating a single vehicle, fatal crash in Rockhampton this afternoon.

At 4pm, a vehicle was travelling west along Machi Nine Road when it left the roadway and collided with a tree.

The front seat passenger, a 16-year-old boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 19-year-old male driver was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment to critical injuries.

The 16-year-old female rear seat passenger was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
