A woman has died following a two-car crash in the state's west this morning.
About 9.55am (Friday 12 September 2025), emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, Gowang, about 32km south of Coonabarabran, following reports a Volkswagen Golf and a semi-truck had crashed.
The female driver of the Volkswagen was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified.
The driver of the truck – a 66-year-old man – was by assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District have established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
