A 48-year-old woman has died in a single vehicle crash on a remote road in Delamere on Friday.
A member of the public alerted police to the crash, which was 30kms north of the Victoria Highway, around 8:30pm on Friday.
Initial investigations indicate the woman, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was driving on the Giwining (Flora) Road, Delamere towards the community of Djurrung when the vehicle collided with a tree.
The woman died at the scene.
Northern Traffic Operations are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
This brings the number of lives lost on Territory roads to 12.
