Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash Near Mudgee 21 August

A woman has died after a single vehicle crash near Mudgee.

About 1.45pm today (Thursday 21 August 2025), emergency services responded to reports that a car had crashed into a tree along the Castlereagh Highway, Aarons Pass, approximately 40km south of Mudgee.

The 73-year-old female driver - and sole occupant - died prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone with information about the crash – or was in the vicinity at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage – to contact Mudgee Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
