Police are responding to fatal crash, Townsville

A 16-year-old boy has died following a skateboard crash at Townsville this afternoon.

At 2:30pm, police responded to parklands off Isley Street to find a boy had come off his skateboard and in a critical condition. Police and paramedics rendered first aid before the boy sadly died a short time later.

Early investigations suggest the boy was travelling down a hill and attempted to slow down prior to crashing into a pole.

Further investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
