Police Arrest Driver After Lengthy Pursuit

A driver was arrested following a pursuit that started in the northeastern suburbs and finished in the western suburbs this afternoon.

The silver Skoda wagon was spotted on Wilkinson Road, Para Hills about 3.30pm on Wednesday 10 December.

PolAir was quickly overhead and picked up the Skoda as the vehicle headed south on Portrush Road through the eastern suburbs to Glen Osmond Road.

The Skoda continued travelling south on Goodwood Road before heading west on Daws Road.

The pursuit ended on Marion Road, near Craig Street, at Richmond at 5pm and the male driver and female passenger were apprehended.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a sword and other number plates.

The driver, a 47-year-old Salisbury East man, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, driving disqualified, speed dangerous and other driving offences, carry offensive weapon, unlawful possession and was wanted for an outstanding warrant.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, Thursday 11 December.

The female passenger was released without charge.

The Skoda was towed from the scene and impounded.
