Police arrest four following Dandenong carjacking

Police have arrested four teenagers following a carjacking in a Dandenong street yesterday afternoon, Victoria Police say.

The incident occurred on Hutton Street when the 45-year-old female victim, who was standing at the boot of her car, was approached by three female teenagers just before 5pm.

The victim got into the driver’s seat when one of the teenagers allegedly struck her in the face and she was pulled from the vehicle.

The teenagers then got in the woman’s car, a white Mazda CX3, and allegedly drove away.

A short time later the three girls were allegedly involved in a theft from a supermarket on Ormond Road in Narre Warren where they stole cigarettes and assaulted an attendant.

Just before midnight police intercepted the vehicle with the three girls and a teenage boy on board in Mulgrave.

A 17-year-old Clyde girl will be charged with carjacking, evade police, assault and theft and will be bailed to a children’s court at a later date.

Two Doveton girls, aged 18 and 15, are expected to be charged on summons with carjacking, theft, assault and evade police.

A 16-year-old Thomaston boy is also expected to be charged on summons with theft of motor car.
