A man has been arrested following the death of a woman in Blackburn last night.
Police attended the property on Whitehorse Road just after 7pm for a welfare check on a female occupant.
The 77-year-old woman was located deceased inside the home.
The exact cause of the woman's death is yet to be determined however it is being treated as suspicious.
A 49-year-old Blackburn man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
It is believed both parties were known to each other and investigators are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
