Prahran Highway Patrol members have arrested a man after he attempted to evade police in Windsor this evening.
Officers were performing laser duties on Dandenong Road when they detected a silver Lexus SUV travelling at 83km/h in a 70km/h zone.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle but it crossed over several lanes of traffic and sped off at an estimated speed of 120km/h and turned into Orrong Road.
The members did not pursue the vehicle any further and made a number of other enquires to identify the vehicle and its owner.
A short time later they attended the registered owners address and arrested a 26-year-old Richmond man.
He is being interviewed for a number of offences including conduct endangering life, speed dangerous and disqualified driving.
Police wish to speak to anyone who saw the silver Lexus on Dandenong Road or Orrong Road about 7pm.
