A man has been arrested following the death of a woman after she was located with stab wounds in Sydney's west today.
About 5.05pm (Sunday 3 August 2025), emergency services were called to a unit on Hemphill Avenue, Mount Pritchard, following reports a woman was located with stab wounds to her chest.
NSW Ambulance paramedics assisted the woman; however, she died at the scene.
While the woman is yet to be formally identified, she is believed to be aged in her 60's.
Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and arrested a 28-year-old man at the scene.
He was taken to Fairfield Police Station.
A crime scene has been established and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the woman's death have commenced, which will be assisted by State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.
Initial inquiries have led police to believe the man and woman were known to each other.
