Police Arrest Man After Pursuit And Crash -Blacktown

A man has been arrested after a crash following a pursuit through Sydney's western suburbs tonight.

Officers attached to City East Traffic and Highway Patrol attempted to stop an allegedly stolen vehicle on the M4 motorway about 8.50pm (Friday 2 January 2026).

When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit was terminated later on M4 motorway at the exit to Reservoir Road at Blacktown.

A short time later, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle further along on Reservoir Road.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was trapped for some time before being freed and treated for minor injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to hospital under police guard, where he remains.

The other driver, a 25-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries and taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has commenced.
