Police Arrest Man After Pursuit At Campbelltown

A man has been arrested following a pursuit in Sydney's south west today.

Shortly before 10am today (Tuesday 19 May 2026), officers from Liverpool Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling Heathcote Road, Hammondville, when they attempted to stop a Toyota sedan.

When the driver failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

Initial inquiries revealed the Toyota had allegedly been stolen from Canley Vale earlier today.

The pursuit continued into Glenfield and Macquarie Fields where the pursuit was terminated.

The Toyota was then monitored by PolAir as it continued through the suburbs of Ruse and Airds.

The vehicle has entered Peppin Crescent, Airds, where the driver unsuccessfully attempted to steal another vehicle.

PolAir continued to monitor the Toyota through suburban streets of Airds, Ruse and Campbelltown before the Toyota turned onto Hoddle Avenue, Campbelltown, and collided with a parked vehicle.

The driver allegedly ran from the Toyota and after a foot pursuit, a 35-year-old man, was arrested.

No injuries have been reported.

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where inquiries continue.
