Police arrest man after pursuit - North Sydney

A man has been arrested following a police pursuit in North Sydney earlier today.

About 5am (Friday 30 October 2020), officers from North Shore Police Area Command were alerted to a vehicle being driven erratically on the Gore Hill Freeway, travelling southbound.

The driver allegedly crossed onto the wrong side of the road multiple times.

A pursuit was initiated and terminated shortly after due to safety concerns.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped at the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Whitton Street, Chatswood, about 5.45am.

The driver, a 32-year-old man, allegedly ran from the scene and became physically aggressive toward police before being tasered.

He was arrested and has been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for assessment.

Three police vehicles sustained minor damage during the incident, however, no officers were injured.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
