Police arrest man after series of Dandenong agg burgs

A man is in custody following a series of alleged aggravated burglaries in the Dandenong area overnight.

It will be alleged the 40-year-old man broke into up to five homes in the Dandenong and Dandenong North areas between the hours of 1 and 5am this morning.

One of the victims, a 47-year-old Dandenong man, observed the man as he left his residence.

He followed the alleged offender and performed a citizen's arrest in Grace Street, Dandenong.

Police arrived a short time later and took the 40-year-old Dandenong man into custody.

He is expected the be charged with aggravated burglary related offences and will be presented to Dandenong Magistrates' court later today.
