Police arrest man during attempted robbery at Sussex Inlet

The robbery of a pharmacy has been prevented by police on foot patrol on the NSW south coast.

About 2.45pm yesterday (Thursday 26 March 2020), officers attached to South Coast Police District were patrolling Tradewind Avenue, Sussex Inlet when they observed a man enter a pharmacy and close the door behind him.

As police approached the pharmacy, it is alleged an armed robbery was taking place with multiple people inside the store.

Police entered the premises and placed a 25-year-old man under arrest.

A crime scene was established and a replica pistol was seized.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon.

He was refused bail to appear at Nowra Local Court tomorrow (Friday 27 March 2020).
