Police arrest man for making child amenable

A southern suburbs man was arrested today for child sex offences.

The 34-year-old was charged by Public Protection Branch detectives with one count of make a child amenable to sexual activity.

The man was also charged for an outstanding warrant.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 5 January.

This arrest came as a result of a referral from the Joint Anti child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint team between the Australian Federal Police and South Australia Police.

Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt from the Public Protection Branch states, "Police urge anyone in the

community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website – www.accce.gov.au - for a full list of available support services with contact details.

"Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.accce.gov.au/report. If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on Triple Zero."
