Police arrest man over pursuit at Para Hills, South Australia

A Davoren Park man has been arrested after a short pursuit in a suspected stolen BMW that crashed into four cars at Para Hills.

Just after 5.30pm on Tuesday 16 April, a police patrol spotted a suspected stolen silver BMW travelling north on Bridge Road. The patrol attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver refused, continuing north, the BMW weaving through two lanes of traffic side-swiping four cars in an attempt to get away from the police vehicle.

The BMW ended up stopping on Bridge Road near Goodall Road wedged between vehicles. The young male driver got out the BMW through the driver's window and ran off, officers giving chase on foot arresting the man a short distance away.

The 20-year-old man from Davoren Park is likely to face charges of illegal use of a motor vehicle and drive to evade police. He has been taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for a preexisting medical condition.

Enquiries are being conducted on the silver BMW which is possibly from Victoria and bearing false SA number plates.

There were no injuries and the four damaged vehicles belonging to members of the public were able to be driven from the scene.
