Police arrest pair at Aldinga Beach, South Australia

Police have arrested a man and a woman following a search at Aldinga Beach.

Acting on information, police attended a holiday park on Cox Road around 11.30am today (Tuesday 17 August), to conduct a search for a woman who had left her nominated quarantine address in the southern suburbs.

As police approached the cabin, a man came out and ran off but was arrested after a short foot chase. The woman was found inside.

A 37-year-old woman from Queensland has been charged with failing to comply with a direction under the Emergency Management Act. A 40-year-old man from Smithfield Plains has been charged with breach of bail.

They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Both have undergone rapid COVID testing and we are awaiting the results.
