Police arrest pair overnight for copper theft, South Australia

Police have arrested a man and a woman after they were allegedly caught stealing copper from a sporting club at Salisbury North overnight.

Just before 1am on Thursday 25 April, police located the pair at a soccer club on Nangari Road in possession of tools used to remove copper wiring from light towers. An amount of copper wiring was also located nearby.

A 45-year-old man from Mawson Lakes has been charged with theft, property damage and breach of bail while the co-accused, a 42-year-old woman from Elizabeth has been charged with theft and property damage.

They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
