Police arrest three in Coffs Harbour over aggravated break-in of Sydney home

Three teenagers will face court today charged over an alleged aggravated break-in at a Sydney home this week.

Sometime after 11.30pm on Thursday (18 March 2021), a home on Braidwood Drive, Prestons, was broken into while the occupants were asleep.

At the time a wallet, keys and a 2021 Audi S5 were stolen from the home and police were notified.

About 6.20am on Friday (19 March 2021), officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District received reports the occupants of the stolen Audi S5 had failed to pay for fuel at a service station on the Pacific Highway at Coffs Harbour.

Coffs Harbour Traffic and Highway patrol officers were attending an unrelated job when they saw the Audi travelling south on the Pacific Highway.

A short time later, officers found the Audi had left the road, crashing into bushland near the intersection of Stadium Drive.

Three males, two aged 18 and a 17-year-old, were arrested after attempting to flee and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

They were all charged with aggravated break and enter with intent - in company – steal, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner and dishonestly obtain property by deception.

The older teens were refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Bail Court today (Saturday 20 March 2021).

The younger teen was refused bail to appear at a children's court today.
