Police arrest two for chemist break, South Australia

Two men have been arrested following a break-in at a chemist at Christies Beach this morning

Just before 4am on Tuesday 27 September police were called to a chemist on Beach Road after people were seen to smash the window and entered the premises.

The intruders were then seen to leave the business in a Ford Sedan.

Patrols were quickly in the area and spotted the suspect vehicle on Dyson Road, where it was followed onto the Southern Expressway.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle however the driver refused and it was pursued for a short time but police lost sight of it on Lonsdale Road, Hallett Cove.

Cordons were set up around the area and patrols spotted the car again on Perry Barr Road where it was followed and eventually stopped on Ocean Boulevard, Seacliffe Park.

Police quickly swooped on the car and arrested the driver and passenger.

A 47-year old man from Parafield Gardens and a 44-year-old man from Salisbury have been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft and traffic offences.

They have been refused police bail and will attend at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.
