Police Arrest Woman After Carjacking - St Marys

A woman has been arrested following an alleged carjacking in Sydney's west this morning.

About 10:30am (Saturday 20 December 2025), police were called to the M4 Motorway near Reservoir Road, Blacktown, following reports a woman was seen trying to get out of the passenger's side of a moving delivery van.

Police attended and officers attached to Blacktown Highway Patrol located the vehicle travelling along the M4 Motorway, Blacktown.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle; however, when it failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated which was terminated due to safety concerns.

A short time later officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command located the passenger of the van – a 30-year-old woman on King Street, Parramatta – she was uninjured.

With assistance of Polair, and the Tactical Operations Group, the vehicle was stopped on James Ruse Drive, Rosehill.

The driver – a 48-year-old woman – was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station where inquiries are continuing.

Initial inquiries revealed the vehicle was stolen from St Marys.
