A woman has been arrested following an alleged theft and deception at a shopping centre in Chadstone on Saturday (15 June).
It is understood a 74-year-old woman accidentally left her purse inside a store at the Dandenong Road shopping centre sometime before 2pm.
The purse was allegedly picked up by another woman, with a number of purchases made at various stores.
An 53-year-old Elwood woman presented herself to Moorabbin Police Station this morning in relation to the incident.
She is currently assisting police with their enquiries and is expected to be charged on summons with theft and deception-related offences.
