Police arrest woman after Melbourne CBD burglary

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman following an alleged burglary in Melbourne this week.

It is alleged three people broke into a high-end retail store on Swanston Street, stealing clothing and jewellery, about 3.50am on Wednesday 13 September.

Two people allegedly returned to the store a short time later and stole more items.

A 21-year-old Carlton woman was arrested in Bourke Street about 8.30pm the same night.

She was charged with burglary, theft, handle stolen goods, resist police (x6), possess controlled weapon (x2) and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

She was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday 18 September.

Investigations remain ongoing to locate two outstanding offenders.
