Police arrest woman for failing to comply with direction, South Australia

A woman will face court after she allegedly failed to comply with current Directions earlier today in the Adelaide Hills.

Just before 11.30am on Wednesday 21 July, patrols were called to a supermarket in Littlehampton after a woman was spotted by staff shopping while not wearing a mask. The woman allegedly continued to shop when staff had asked her to wear a mask.

Police arrived a short time later and spoke to the woman at length explaining the Direction and the requirement to wear a mask in shared indoor public places. Police will allege the woman then refused to provide her details and following several warnings, she was arrested for failing to state her name and address.

The 56-year-old from Strathalbyn was charged with failing to comply with a direction and refusing to state her name and address. She has been bailed to appear in the Mount Barker Magistrates Court on 25 August.
