Police bring Christmas cheer to Brisbane early

Holiday cheer was certainly felt and heard in the Queen Street Mall last week with the Commissioner’s Christmas Concerts drawing in big lunchtime crowds, Queensland Police say.

From Wednesday through to Friday shoppers were treated to the wonderful and diverse sounds of the QPS Pipes and Drums, police choir Melody in Blue as well as police groovers Band of Blue.

Constable Clancy the koala and Seymour the Neighbourhood Watch owl were also about meeting and greeting passers-by. They also enjoyed a few boogies to the smooth, smooth sounds of Band of Blue.

Plenty of crime prevention and safety information was available with volunteers from various organisations set-up and ready to answer questions and handout materials.

Police Recruit Dogs also made an appearance at the first concert but had too much fun that they were unfortunately too tired to get along to the last two events.
