Detectives from the Crime Command Drug and Serious Crime Group, Far Northern Major and Organised Crime Squad, have charged 11 people in relation to 59 offences following investigations into the trafficking of dangerous drugs by an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) in the Far North region.
Operation Xray Kyro and Operation Xray Aphrodite closed yesterday after eight search warrants were executed at addresses in Cairns, Edmonton and Atherton Tablelands.
During the searches, police located large quantities of dangerous drugs, including methylamphetamine, cocaine, large amounts of cash, three firearms and multiple mobile phones.
Police also located and seized eight vehicles, including a 2014 Audi S3 sedan, 2015 Ford Ranger, 2014 Holden Commodore Utility, 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLE63 sedan, 2006 Mercedes-Benz Vito Van, 2012 Mitsubishi Triton, 2023 Nissan Qashqai Wagon and 2023 'On the Move' Adventure Caravan. It will be alleged the vehicles were purchased with suspected proceeds of crime.
The protracted investigation conducted by the Cairns Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) and officers from Maxima, with the assistance of Cairns CPIU, Innisfail CIB, Tablelands CIB, Rural and Stock Crime Squad, ABF Dog Squad, Cairns Dog Squad and Cairns TCS commenced in April to investigate the trafficking of dangerous drugs by OMCGs.
A 32-year-old Mount Sheridan man and alleged member of the Mongols OMCG was charged with one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs (Methylamphetamine), possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, possession of property suspected of being acquired with proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act (vehicles), contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Methylamphetamine), possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Cocaine), possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act ($142,640 cash), possessing dangerous drugs (steroids), unlawful possession of weapons Category D/H/R weapon (handgun), firearms to be kept unloaded other than when being used to shoot, possess shortened firearms (12 gauge double barrelled shotgun), possess shortened firearms (22 calibre rifle) and authority required to possess explosives (ammunition).
He is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today.
A 29-year-old Mount Sheridan woman was charged with one count each of contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Methylamphetamine), possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Cocaine) and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act ($142,640 cash).
She received a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 30, 2026.
A 44-year-old Earlville woman was charged with one count each of trafficking in dangerous drugs (Methylamphetamine)Possessing dangerous drugs (Cannabis), possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act ($7,180 cash) and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used and two counts of contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically.
The woman appeared in the Cairns Magistrates Court today. She was remanded in custody to appear on March, 10 2026 .
A 25-year-old Mount Sheridan man has been charged with two counts each of possess exceed schedule (Methylamphetamine and Cocaine), possess dangerous drugs (Testosterone/Suboxone) and possess Category M Weapon (Crossbow/Knife) and one count each of possess medicine Sched 4, possess tainted property ($13,770 cash), possess property suspected (Scales), possess relevant substance and contravene requirement (Access phone).
The man appeared in the Cairns Magistrates Court today. He was remanded in custody to appear on February, 10 2026.
A 35-year-old Wongabel man was issued a drug diversion in relation to possess dangerous drugs (Cannabis) and possess utensil.
A 28-year-old Manoora woman was charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Methylamphetamine), possess relevant substance (Butanediol), possess thing, possess utensil, possess Cat M Weapon, fail to take reasonable precautions and permit place.
She received a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 17, 2026.
A 24-year-old Manoora woman was charged with one count each of supply dangerous drug, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 4 (Methylamphetamine), possessing dangerous drugs (Cocaine), possess relevant substance (Butanediol) and possess thing used in crime.
She received a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 17, 2026.
A 44-year-old Manoora man was charged with one count each of possess dangerous drug, possess utensil and fail to take reasonable precaution.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brad Grace from the Far North Major and Organised Crime Squad said police are continuing to put pressure on OMCG members in the Far North, targeting their violence, drug trafficking and complete disregard for community safety.
"This operation disrupted the group's activities, preventing further drug-related offending in the region and we will continue to target their criminal behaviour and associates being drawn into this destructive lifestyle," Detective Senior Sergeant Grace said.
"Outlaw motorcycle gangs are linked to drugs, firearms and violence, and police see the impact of this offending on the community and families first-hand.
