Three people have been arrested and police have escaped injury after their car was allegedly rammed during a pursuit in the state’s Riverina region, NSW Police say.
About 1.30am today, police attempted to stop a white Toyota on Yambil Street, Griffith.
The driver allegedly failed to stop and a pursuit began. The pursuit continued through a number of streets in East Griffith, before being terminated.
A short time later the vehicle was again spotted by patrolling officers and it is alleged the driver of the Toyota drove toward police and rammed a number of police vehicles.
The vehicle drove away and stopped in a nearby park, before the occupants of the vehicle fled.
Shortly after, police arrested three teenagers nearby.
All three were taken to Griffith Police Station.
The 17-year-old male was charged with take/driver conveyance, low-range PCA, 2 x police pursuit – not stop – Skye’s Law, predatory driving, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and learner unaccompanied.
He was refused bail and will appear in a Children’s Court tomorrow.
Two teenage girls were released pending further inquiries.
