Police Charge Driver After Crash At Hurstville

A driver has been charged following a crash which left a woman with life-threatening injuries in Sydney's south earlier this year.

About 5.30pm on Tuesday 13 May 2025, officers attached to St George Police Area Command were called to Gloucester Road, Hurstville, after a woman was hit by an SUV.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman, aged 38, for head, hip and leg injuries. She was taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The woman has since been treated for serious injuries and released from hospital.

The 56-year-old female driver of the SUV stopped at the scene. She was taken to hospital for mandatory testing before being taken to Kogarah Police Station, where she was released pending further inquiries.

Officers attached to Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Following extensive inquiries, police yesterday (Tuesday 21 October 2025) issued the 56-year-old woman with a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm).

She is due to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 2 December 2025.
