Police charge driver after fatal crash - Prestons

A driver has been charged after a motorcyclist died in a crash at Prestons earlier today.

About 6.10am (Friday 21 August 2020), emergency services were called to the corner of Progress Circuit and Lyn Parade following reports that a car and motorcycle had collided.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on the male motorcycle rider, however he died at the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

The driver, a 39-year-old man from Westmead, was taken to Liverpool Police Station.

He has been charged with negligent driving occasioning death. The man has been released on conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Friday 18 September 2020.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
