Police charge driver after Mentone fatal

A driver has been charged after a fatal crash in Mentone on Sunday 15 August.

The charges come after a vehicle allegedly struck two pedestrians on Nepean Highway after 5pm.

One of the pedestrians, a 16-year-old Parkdale boy, died at the scene.

The other pedestrian, a 16-year-old Parkdale girl, was treated for minor injuries.

The alleged driver, a 31-year-old Dandenong man, has since been charged with culpable driving.

He was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 17 December.
