A man will face court today charged following an alleged pursuit in the State's Northern Tablelands.
Just after 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 14 January 2026), officers attached to Oxley Highway Patrol conducting routine patrols attempted to stop the driver of a grey Subaru Liberty sedan on Marius Street, North Tamworth.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to pull over as directed and increased speed, police initiated a pursuit.
The pursuit continued through various roads in North Tamworth, Oxley Vale, Hallsville, Tamina and onto the Oxley Highway, towards Bective, before eventually coming to a stop on Bective Lane.
Following a short foot pursuit, officers arrested a 30-year-old man.
He was taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously and drive whilst disqualified.
The man was refused bail to appear before Local Bail Division – Court 5 today (Thursday 15 January 2026).
