Police Charge Driver Over Fatal Hallett Cove Crash

The driver of a car involved in a fatal crash earlier this month has been arrested.

About 10pm on Tuesday 4 August, emergency services were called to the intersection of Barramundi Drive and Lonsdale Road, Hallett Cove, after reports of a crash involving a Nissan station wagon and Subaru sedan.

The driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman from Morphett Vale was treated for non-life threatening injuries and a passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Woodcroft was taken to hospital in a critical condition. Sadly, another passenger in the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman from Hallett Cove, died at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru, a 27-year-old man from Aberfoyle Park was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, 18 August, the driver of the Subaru was arrested and charged with cause death by dangerous driving, cause serious harm by dangerous driving and cause harm by dangerous driving. An instant loss of licence notice was issued until further order and he was bailed to appear at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Thursday 10 September.
