Police Charge Driver Over Pursuit At Coffs Harbour

A man will face court over a pursuit in the states' north today.

About 9.55am (Monday 8 December 2025), officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District were patrolling on the Pacific Highway, near Cook Drive, Coffs Harbour, when they attempted to stop a vehicle.

As police approached the car it will be alleged the vehicle mounted a median strip narrowly missing an officer.

A pursuit was initiated with extra resources assisting from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and the Dog Squad.

A short time later, the vehicle stopped after it allegedly crashed into the roundabout at the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Stadium Drive, Coffs Harbour.

The driver – a 30-year-old man – allegedly ran from the scene and was arrested with the assistance of the Dog Squad.

The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop -drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and use offensive weapon to prevent police investigation.

He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 1 tomorrow (Tuesday 9 December 2025).
