Police charge five after baby formula burglaries

Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged five people following a series of burglaries where baby formula was stolen across the north-west of Melbourne.

It is alleged more than 40 burglaries targeting baby formula occurred in Springvale, Clayton, Bundoora, Point Cook and Werribee between 19 June and 14 July.

Four men and a woman, all from St Albans have been charged.

A 24-year-old man has been charged and remanded with bail and burglary offences.

A 31-year-old man has been charged and remanded with more than 20 burglary offences

They will both appear at the Sunshine Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

A 25-year-old woman has been charged and bailed with two counts of burglary.

A 41-year-old man has been charged and bailed with burglary and theft.

They will both appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 11 November.

A 35-year-old man has been charged and bailed with burglary and theft.

He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 21 October.

The investigation remains ongoing.
