Police Charge in Molendinar Wounding Probe

Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man in relation to the wounding of a 17-year-old boy in Molendinar on 6 November 2025.

At approximately 7.30pm, police and emergency services were called to a Batchworth Road address around 7.30pm following reports the boy had been stabbed.

He was located at the scene with serious injuries and transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

It will be alleged two offenders fled the scene in a white Mercedes-Benz utility prior to police arrival.

The vehicle was later sighted on Cotlew Street, Ashmore around 8.50pm before being located abandoned at a business on Marine Parade, Labrador around 9.15pm.

Following extensive investigations, a 33-year-old Molendinar man has been charged with one count of acts intended to maim, disfigure or disable.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, 13 April.

Investigations are ongoing.
