Police charge man after a spate of break-ins at Armidale

A man has been charged following a spate of break-in offences in the state's Northern Tablelands.

Between 31 January 2020 and 1 March 2020 multiple homes and vehicles were broken into throughout Armidale and Guyra townships.

A 19-year-old man allegedly stole property and vehicles from homes, and later allegedly set the vehicles on fire.

Following inquiries, detectives attached to New England Police District arrested a man at a home on Taylor Street, Armidale about 2.10pm on Sunday (1 March 2020).

He was taken to Armidale Police Station and charged with two counts of break and enter house steal value, six counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, three counts of damage property by fire, aggravated enter dwelling in company intent to steal and larceny.

The 19-year-old man was bail refused and appeared at Armidale Local Court on Monday 2 March 2020, where he was formerly refused bail to appear at the same court on Monday 16 March 2020.
