Police charge man after aggravated break and enter at Nambucca Heads

A man will face court today after an aggravated break and enter on the state's Mid North Coast.

About 9.40am yesterday (Monday 7 October 2019), a 67-year-old male employee was preparing to open a licensed premises on Bowra Street, Nambucca Heads when he noticed a man running from inside the building with a sum of cash.

The employee chased the 26-year-old before locating a sum of cash on a nearby street.

The younger man later returned to the 67-year-old and agreed to attend Nambucca Heads Police Station.

While the pair were walking to the station, the 26-year-old struggled free.

Officers from Mid North Coast Police District located him on the corner of Bowra and Ridge Streets before a foot pursuit was initiated.

A short time later, he was arrested and taken to Macksville Police Station.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indicatable offence, and two counts of resist arrest.

He was refused bail to face Port Macquarie Local Court today (Tuesday 8 October 2019).
