Police charge man after appeal for Mansfield erratic driver

Wangaratta Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an appeal to a series of incidents in the Bonnie Doon and Mansfield areas last week.

Detectives arrested the 44-year-old on Monday following the investigation.

The Wangaratta South man has been charged with;

• Evade police;

• Handle stolen goods;

• Reckless conduct endangering persons;

• Burglary (x2);

• Drive whilst disqualified; and

• Other traffic related offences

He was remanded to appear at Wangaratta Magistrates' Court on 27 September.

The charges relate to an incident involving a black Audi sedan which was allegedly seen driving erratically in the Bonnie Doon and Mansfield areas on Sunday 22 August.

The Audi was located the following day in Acherton and had crashed into a tree in bushland.
