Police Charge Man After Armed Robbery At Cobargo

A man will face court charged over an alleged armed robbery on the state's Far South Coast earlier this week.

About 9pm Tuesday (5 May 2026), police were called to a service station on the Princes Highway, Cobargo, following reports of an armed robbery.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District responded and were told a man – allegedly armed with a handgun – entered the service station and threatened a 19-year-old female employee before taking cigarettes and cash and driving away.

The woman was not injured.

A crime scene was established an an investigation commenced.

Following inquiries, about midday yesterday (Wednesday 5 May 2026), a 30-year-old man was arrested at a home on the Princes Highway, Cobargo.

A search warrant was executed at the home, where police allegelly located and seized a replica pistol, tobacco products and cash which will undergo forensic examination.

The man was taken to Narooma Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon, and possess unauthorised pistol.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 today (Thursday 7 May 2026).
