A man will face court today charged following the alleged armed robbery of a bottle shop in Grafton yesterday.
About 12.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 34 June 2025), police were called to a bottle shop on Bent Street, Grafton, following reports of a robbery.
At the scene, police were told a man allegedly threatened two employees with a knife and demanded cash.
The man left the scene with cash and a bottle of beer.
No physical injuries were sustained by the employees.
Several minutes later, police stopped a man walking along the Grafton Bridge, with a subsequent search of the man allegedly revealing $1630 cash.
The 42-year-old was arrested and taken to Grafton Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon.
He was also charged with three counts of shoplifting, and an outstanding warrant was executed.
He was refused bail to appear before Casino Local Court today (Thursday 5 June 2025).
